CLIFTON WILLIAMS, FORMER UNC ASHEVILLE LEGAL COUNSEL, JOINS ALLEN STAHL + KILBOURNE
Clifton Williams has joined Allen Stahl + Kilbourne (ASK) as its newest attorney starting June 1, 2020. Williams has most recently served as University Counsel on the UNC Asheville legal staff where he has worked since 2014, including three years as the University’s chief legal officer. He brings an array of government, military, and private practice experience to ASK, having previously worked in North Carolina State University’s Office of General Counsel and, before his time in public service, with Bachman and Swanson in Durham.
“We are excited to have Clifton join our team,” says ASK partner Derek Allen. “I have gotten to know and admire Clifton through his role at my alma mater, UNC Asheville. It is clear to me that Clifton’s skill set, experience, and connections in Western North Carolina will make him a perfect fit for our practice.”
Williams will focus on education law, employment law, corporate work, real estate, and other general business areas, while serving and expanding the firm’s client base in craft beverage, real estate development, manufacturing, outdoor gear, and other lifestyle-oriented businesses.
Allen Stahl + Kilbourne is a full-service law firm covering a number of practice areas, including real estate, construction, craft beverage, creditor rights in bankruptcy and debt collection, intellectual property, employment and labor, education, estate planning and administration, and general business and corporate matters. The firm has strong connections to Asheville and Western North Carolina, as many ASK attorneys have practiced, lived, or learned here since the 1970s.
