Marty moved back to North Carolina in 2022 after spending almost 20 years in California working primarily in Environmental Advocacy and Transportation Policy. In the civic and nonprofit spaces, Marty has facilitated preservation of open space and transportation reform through ardent advocacy for sustainable stewardship of the built environment.  

He has a B.A. in Theatre from Davidson College (’02) and a J.D. from Whitter Law (’06). Marty is admitted to the CA (’07) and NC (’24) Bar Associations.

In his free time, Marty pets dogs and advocates for regulatory reform geared at resilient communities, attainable housing, and transportation equity.
