Damie Sesay

Damie A. Sesay is an experienced litigator.  She began her legal career in the Washington, D.C. area as a prosecutor where she gained invaluable litigation experience.  Damie then served as in-house counsel for a large insurance company. Since moving to North Carolina in 2016, Damie served as an Assistant Attorney General where she defended state agencies before the Industrial Commission.  Most recently, she practiced in the areas of liability defense and litigation. In this capacity, she defended large businesses and insurance companies in a variety of matters in administrative, state and federal courts. Her vast experience has led to several speaking engagements and publications. Damie brings this diversity of experience to Allen Stahl + Kilbourne and thrives on the challenge of tackling complex legal issues and representing her clients to the fullest.

Damie obtained her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma, and her law degree from American University Washington College of Law.  While in law school, she participated in the Moot Court Honor Society, the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project and the General Practice Clinic. She also received the Pro Bono Honors Pledge Award for her commitment to community service.

Damie currently serves on the Board for the Nineteen Youth Foundation, a non-profit organization in Nigeria. NYF's mission is to reach high school and college-aged women by providing vocational training and basic resources these women may not otherwise have access to.

Damie has called Asheville home since 2019, and lives with her husband and two children.
