Megan Farley

Megan began her legal career in 2013 working in-house for a regional financial institution.  While there, she gained an extensive background in contract negotiations, collections and creditors’ rights.  Megan began her private practice career with the firm in 2016. Since joining Allen Stahl + Kilbourne, Megan has expanded her areas of expertise into business and nonprofit law, commercial transactions, trademark law and estate planning.

She regularly advises business clients on formation, operational matters, succession planning, purchase and sale transactions, trademark registration, and helps guide board of directors through the unique challenges faced by nonprofit organizations. Megan has significant experience in assisting lenders in negotiating loan workout and settlement agreements with borrowers, representing lenders in foreclosure, bankruptcy and collection cases, post-judgment collections, and reviewing and revising loan documentation. Additionally, Megan assists clients with drafting and revising wills, trusts, living wills, durable powers of attorney, and health care powers of attorney. Megan is excited to again expand her knowledge base and will be working with Derek Allen in his representation of craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries across the state.

Megan received her B.A. in Social Studies Education (6-12) with honors from the University of North Florida in 2007 and received her law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2011. She is privileged to have been a part of the Indian River Community College Fastpitch Softball team from 2003 to 2005, winning the silver medal in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Softball Championship tournament with her teammates in 2005.

Megan has called Asheville home since 2011 and lives with her husband, daughter, and dog Atticus.
